DAILY HUNTING
From our comfortable lodgings we can depart daily to our chosen hunting grounds, returning as the hunting and weather dictates. This provides you with all the comforts of home and all the fantastic amenities Wanaka has to offer.
This is especially appealing when travelling with partners, as there are a fantastic variety of attractions to keep your partner entertained if they are not joining us on the hill.
We can cater for any level of accommodation needs, everything from very high end exclusive accommodation through to the much more modest. Please inquire about our various options available.
BACKPACK MOUNTAIN HUNTING
For the more adventurous and physically fitter, we offer a true mountain hunting experience. This will take you into some of the most spectacular scenery in New Zealand.
Using either a helicopter of 4wd to access our chosen area, then setting camp and moving through the mountains. This is the most grass roots way to experience our mountains.
A favourite way of hunting and a specialty for Southern Lakes Safaris, this is what we do in our own time. Because of this we have a huge number of area's that we have scouted, and know just where to target for what species.
A client favourite is to take both the chamois buck and bull tahr in this manner. Often, we can achieve this on the same trip. But depending on the weather and the time of the year we will sometimes shift location when we shift target species.
We can tailor this option to whatever your level of fitness, but a reasonable base level of fitness will make this much more enjoyable.
VARMINTING / EXTRAS
Long range varminting is often a client favourite and our nearby population of Wallaby provides an exciting varminting target and an opportunity to let off a lot of rounds and really stretch the legs of your own or one of our high end custom rifles.
Bird shooting is also very popular. We have an abundance of game birds available providing a fast paced and challenging hunt.
We can also arrange for helicopter shooting of a number of species such as Goats, Wallaby, Geese and feral Red Deer. This option will test your marksmanship and show you more of our stunning scenery.
